Valerie Berseth will explore how human relationships with coastal environments are evolving in the face of environmental changes and technological advances.  She will share insights from research she has done with Pacific salmon conservation in the US and Canada and she will highlight how communities are adapting to new challenges while redefining their relationships to nature and coastal ecosystems. By examining both the risks and opportunities presented by emerging technologies, we’ll discuss the ways that our values and perceptions intersect with policy and innovation to shape the future of our coasts.
